About Otterskin Roof Gear & Construction, Inc.
Owner and operator, Michael Schwalm, founded Otterskin Roof Gear & Construction, Inc. in August 2001.
The foundation of our company is a result of knowledge and experience that has come full circle. Mike first started working with flat roofs during his time at Duro-Last Roofing, Inc., where he learned every aspect of the Duro-Last Roofing System through the following positions he held:
Warranty Service Crew Foreman: Traveled the country leading his
own crew to assess and repair damage caused to Duro-Last roofs.
Technical Trainer: Traveled across the country conducting seminars
and training new contractors how to install the Duro-Last Roofing
System, as well as facilitated seminars to provide continuous education
for architects.
Regional Inspector: Was responsible for inspecting all of the new
Duro-Last installations in the southeast region of Michigan, including the
Detroit, Pontiac, Flint and Port Huron areas. During this time, Mike
inspected over 2 million square feet of Duro-Last installations.
The criteria for inspection include compliance to specifications, quality,
craftsmanship and aesthetics.
Applying his vast knowledge and experience of flat and low-slope roofing, Mike leads the Otterskin Team on every roof installation we do. As such, our professionally trained crew draws on over 21 years combined experience working with the Duro-Last system.
As a result of hard work and dedication, Otterskin Roof Gear & Construction, Inc. is annually recognized as an Elite Master Contractor and President’s Club member through Duro-Last for superior craftsmanship.
